You’re growing up on me too quick. I just held you like a baby and it reminded me of when you were tiny. You don’t let me do that anymore but it felt good. Hi Papa,

Baseball season is back, the warriors have 70 wins, Villanova just beat North Carolina with a game winning 3 and I got back from Roberts bachelor party in vegas. It’s been a crazy week with everything that was going on but it’s all good, your mama is a giants fan and I’m a Yankee fan. It’s gonna be hard to choose what team to raise you up with but I think the choice has been made from your mom. You will still go for the Yankees but you won’t have a Derek Jeter to look up to like how I did. Right now your sleeping and had a hard night, you woke up and cried a few times and finally went back to sleep at 1am or so but you had a mini fever and are teething so we played with you and just hoped you would get tired so we can sleep. I took today off so that I can be with you and your grandma go to her appointment.

What’s new with Z? Right now you are talking more,rolling over like crazy, smiling like always and just being an angel. Mommy and Daddy completed the baptism course at church and now we are trying to figure out when we are going to baptize you. Danny and Lorena are going to be your Godparents. Prolly not gonna do a big ol party because I don’t want to and because we think that the baptism isn’t about a party it’s more of an introduction to your religious path that you are going to take with our guidance and love for you.

Everyone is in love with you and I don’t blame them. You smile and makes me feel good when I’m having a bad day, your talking and laughing makes me so happy to be your daddy. You won’t ever know how much your mommy and I love you until you have your own family one day but it’s incredible and something that you can’t really describe because it’s a love that you can’t compare.

Okay papa, the masters is on lol I’m gonna try and take a mini nap since your sleeping and then run around with you later on.

Hi Papa,
It’s your 1st Easter and you are sleeping. We went to church at 7am got some starbucks and came home to clean and play. This being out first Easter as a family made me laugh and realize even more how important family and friends are. Today I sent out a text to a few folks and said Happy Easter from Z and as I thought about who I wanted to send a text to the list of names was small, I could of course send it to everyone but not everyone would care or be thankful for the text and thoughtfulness behind wishing them a happy easter.
Today reminds me of being with my grandma at her house looking for eggs with some money, change, candy and chocolates. Today also reminds me of being with your grandma in LA or at the ranch and of course going to church. I hope to create a lot of fun and life long memories for you too so when you look back at your childhood you will have fun memories like me.

On Friday your tia Nena and I took you to get a photo taken with the Easter bunny and you did amazing. You smiled ear to ear and were to cute. You had 2 big scratches from Thursday when you decided to scratch yourself up, I was maddddd but I can’t do anything about it. I just didn’t like the fact that you hurt yourself and might have some scares but I’m hoping you won’t. We woke up Friday morning and I think you knew that I was upset so you didn’t move when I was cutting your nails when you usually move a little but that day you stood still.

Happy 1st Easter papa, I hope you have a good day today and are resting and having fun with mommy and I today.

We love you very much! BTW you were super behaved yesterday at the baby shower with Parracho and Jessica and at church today. You got some money in your piggy bank for that.

Hi Z!
On Friday 3/18/2016 mommy and I went to a wedding. Tio Marco got married on Friday and your mommy and I got to go hangout and have some alone time and got to turn up. I felt the love for Marco and Cristina that day and could only be happy for them because they are about to start a new chapter together as one.

Mommy got a little turnt but I chilled and didn’t get to turnt because I had to drive home. A small piece of me wanted to get hammered but I knew I had to feed you and take care if you so I decided not to. Sleeping next to you and waking up to you everyday is the best feeling to me. 

On Saturday you and I kicked it all day. I know that you know that I’m your daddy, the smile, laughs and just overall love that you share with me is beautiful and something that I cant explain. I feel like you know I love you too because of our connection, I was the first one to talk to you, hold you and touch you when you were born. Your my best friend and my baby boy.

I’m gonna try and take a little nap now since your asleep.

Hi Papa,
We’ll I’m one of those parents who wants to take their kids everywhere with then. Marco Island getting married on Friday the 18th and my first thought when he told me was what is Z going to wear? Can he go? Do I ask? I prolly shouldn’t take him since we will be taking care of him and not celebrating with everyone else. So from here on out papa don’t count on going to weddings or any grown folks parties. Your a baby and need to be home playing and sleeping so you can get bigger and stronger.
I thought it was funny that I wanted to take you because I would be like why the hell are people bringing kids to a wedding or party etc and I turned into one of those parents.

Anyways I love you papa and I have a video of you and I playing and you laughing and laughing. You sleep crazy and are a little mini me.

What up Z?

While you were asleep your daddy was jumping up and down yelling out Stockton motherfuckers STOCKTON! Nate Diaz was fighting and he’s also from Stockton where daddy is from. I am very proud to be from Stockton 209 and don’t shy away from it. It was a good day, he had the whole city rooting for him and the whole world against him but that didn’t get him down. Nate won via submission and mommy and I couldn’t have been happier. I was smiling and wanted to share this with you but you were sleeping like a little baby.
I want you to always remember where you come from and don’t take no shit from nobody. You believe in yourself and handle yourself well in and out public. Hold your own and don’t back down, I want you to have a mentality that is strong and won’t break just because people may doubt you one day and don’t doubt anybody else either because you don’t know their struggle.
You’re gonna be 7 months in a few days and the time has seriously flown by. You laugh so much which is beautiful, you smile every morning and are the happiest baby I have ever seen.

Last one and we are caught up. Mommy loves Mickey and she is giving you everything with Mickey. We are planning your 1st birthday to be in disneyland already and it’s 6 months away.
You had a Dr. visit the other day and you did good you handled your shots like a champ. You are 15 pounds and 25 inches I think, I don’t remember.
We watch mickey mouse club house all the time, you are getting a hilarious personality and smile all the time, sometimes you’re serious but with me you are smiling or sleeping because I love to take naps with you. You are also eating a little more, hair growing a little more and just making huge strides. I can’t believe you were 3 pounds 6 months ago.
One thing I learned with all of this is that time go by fast and don’t stop. Another thing I learned is that it’s a lot of hard work to be a parent and the last is you better thank your mommy when you get older because she does so much for you. I am gonna have to thank her later on too but man it’s a full time job and lots of lots of work.

Hello Z

You made your first trip to El Centro and did an amazing job. You got to meet your great grandfather Don Candelario which was very important to me. You also got to meet your cousin Noah who was a little jealous because of his mommy and daddy were holding you. It was funny because one day you will be like that with other babies.
Your Lopez family loved you and enjoyed seeing and meeting you for the first time. Zebastian you’re really a blessing to mommy and daddy you bring us so much joy and we just love giving you kisses and holding you.

It’s been a while so let me back track.
On January 29 we lost my Tio Robert. He was a unique individual and had a hard life but he loved his family. I learned a lot from him, mostly what not to do and what not to be like but he knew that. My Tio would take care of me when I was a baby and take me to go play at the park and just be there whenever my mom needed him. I would always say that he was my favorite Tio because of that and because he spent so much time with me. I would go and visit him when he was at the farm or give him clothes/ he would take. I learned from my mom what unconditional love is with him. Grandma loves her family especially her brothers and sisters and wouldn’t turn her back on them no matter what. My Tio was loved by many and had a smile on him that would make others smile, he would always say chagito reyes should have been a boxer or call me bad names that I will tell you when you are older.

He had a good funeral and it gave the family an opportunity to see you and finally meet you.
I want you to know that I will always love you and show you unconditional love just like grandma has shown me. You can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it.

Just wanted to check in real quick and keep you updated. One day you will look back at this and hopefully feel the love that we have for you. Everyone is in love with you, we jump at your cough, cry or laugh. You are growing so quickly it’s seriously insane. Tomorrow  (sunday) we are taking you to church with us, I’m hoping you will either be asleep or be a good boy. We’re also going to watch football, I don’t really care who wins but I’d be
happy for Peyton Manning to go to the Superbowl and I’ll go for Carolina as well, hopefully the games will be good. You’re sleeping right next to me so I’m gonna crash out too. I guess what I’m trying to say in all of this is that I love you, we love you and we want for you to be our baby forever.
